Hydrochemical analysis

The environment, and in particular the marine environment, has undergone significant changes in recent decades due to intensive human activity. Most of these activities affect the water quality and have been occurring in the marine ecosystem. The determination of water quality is complex and multifaceted and only through detailed analyzes and studies can diagnose the magnitude of the impact. The determination of the physicochemical parameters of the aquatic column, as well as the quantification of the inflow of nutrients, function as guideline for determining the quality of water in areas with intense anthropogenic activity and provide critical information for assessing the degree of burden suffered by the aquatic environment. Our research group can provide accurate information on the physicochemical characteristics of water samples through the determination of pH, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity of the water column as well as the determination of total organic carbon, total nitrogen, nitrites, ammonium, and total phosphorus in order to define the impact of human activities in coastal aquatic systems
